MY VEIWINGS

11 December 2010

Want to look at using animation with my video blogs.

This will make it more exciting for the viewer and possibly boost my viewings.
Here's some that have caught my attention.

Feel free to comment on what you think I should do to gain veiws and such like.

Youtube.com and other such networky sites

With all the new network sites and media it's so much easier for people to see you and your 'talent'.

But what is talent anymore and how can I stand out of all of these and prove how easy fame really has become.

Here are only a handful of people that have gained recognition in such a small amount of time. I also feel that's it's all about timing. So I will have to keep up to date with current affairs and do videos on these.

But how long does fame last?

Looking at the influence of fame!

The first artist that springs to mind that was heavily influenced by fame and the ideology of it; was Andy Warhol. It seemed he realised from the very beginning that it didn't take a lot to have someone's attention and once having it they were also easily manipulated. Warhol, most famously known for 'The Factory' where artists, drug users and Warhol fans resided to help him create his silk-screens and films.

Everything Andy Warhol did was a performance. I need to create someone I can play non-stop and virtually become for the duration of this project.

A recent artist that has claimed to be a big fan of his is none other than Lada Gaga.
This video shows how alike the two are, both obsessed with famous people like they're not real more like 'plastic'.

I need an Alter-Ego.

My Statement of Intent (for new project).

For the project ‘Clarify’ I wasn’t completely sure where I was going to take it, however I was certain I wanted to do something that pushed me. So I am planning on making something that I have not really done before but I felt that I wanted to try new direction and push myself to my limits and out of my comfort zone. To build my confidence and try an aspect of my life that I have always fantasised about. So I am going to be looking at fame and all that surrounds it.

I got this idea because I thought about how quickly an average person, like myself, can be formed into a “celebrity” in such a short space of time. With new technology, tv talent shows and video internet sites it’s seems that you don’t even have to be talented to be famous. Even with current singers at this time you can be dubbed and auto-tuned to sound like a true star. Is it really this easy?

From creating an alter-ego for myself and using my own talent, I will then be documenting myself trying to prove how easy it really is to be famous or even recognised in today’s world.  Using different medias from posters to video blogs and hopefully  live appearances.

After making this I’m hoping to achieve some goals throughout for example; a certain number of views on my blog site, being recognised by a member of the public and maybe creating an event or performance where I have fans that I have gained from promoting myself as a product.  I also want to prove how people, who look at media are so easily influence by everything that they see and hear, if I tell them I’m going to be/am famous with sufficient ‘evidence’ will they believe me, treat me differently or both?

I have started my blog where I shall be posting research and my own videos and diary of my progress and I have already been in talk with an acoustic guitarist to help with singing along with a team of friends who are willing to put in all their artistic skills to help me along the way.
